Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Brijbyte ("we", "us", "our") operates the Storyweaver application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

We are committed to protecting your privacy, especially given that our App is designed for use by families with children.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive:

  • Your name (display name)
  • Your email address
  • Your profile picture URL (if available)

We do not collect passwords. Authentication is handled securely through Google and Apple's OAuth services.

2.2 Story Content

We store:

  • Story prompts you provide
  • Generated story text, images, and audio
  • Your story preferences (art style, age group, language)
  • Character reference images you upload (processed for story generation, then stored temporarily)

2.3 Device Information

If you enable push notifications, we store your device token (Firebase Cloud Messaging token) to send you notifications about story completion.

2.4 Usage Data

We collect basic usage analytics to improve the App, such as story creation counts and feature usage. We do not track individual browsing behavior or share data with advertisers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Story generation: Your prompts and preferences are sent to AI services to create personalized stories.
  • Account management: Your name and email identify your account and enable sign-in.
  • Notifications: Device tokens are used solely to notify you when a story is ready.
  • Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized data helps us improve story quality and app performance.

4. AI Processing

Your story prompts are processed by third-party AI services (including Google's Gemini) to generate text and images. These services process your prompts in real-time and do not retain your data for their own training purposes as per our agreements with them.

Character reference images you upload are sent to AI services for visual style matching and are not used for any purpose other than generating your requested story.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Story assets (images and audio) are stored with unguessable URLs and are not publicly discoverable.
  • Authentication tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device.
  • All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption.

6. Data Sharing

We do not:

  • Sell your personal data to third parties
  • Share your data with advertisers
  • Use your content for marketing without consent
  • Share individual story content with other users

We may share data with:

  • AI service providers (Google Gemini) — for story generation only
  • Cloud infrastructure providers (Google Cloud) — for hosting and storage
  • Firebase (Google) — for push notifications only

7. Children's Privacy

Storyweaver is designed to be operated by adults to create stories for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

The App includes a "Kids Mode" that allows children to browse and read stories without accessing account settings, story creation, or personal data. We encourage parents to enable Kids Mode when handing the device to children.

8. Your Rights

8.1 Access and Export

You can view all your stories and account information within the App at any time.

8.2 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through Settings in the App.

  • Your account is deactivated immediately upon request.
  • All personal data, stories, images, and audio are permanently deleted within 30 days.
  • Deletion is irreversible. Your account cannot be reinstated once deletion is requested.
  • Signing up again will create a brand new account with no connection to your previous data.

8.3 Notification Management

You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through the App's Settings. Disabling notifications immediately unregisters your device from our notification service.

9. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: Data is retained as long as your account is active.
  • Deleted accounts: All data is permanently deleted within 30 days of deletion request.
  • Cached data on device: You can clear local caches at any time through the App's Settings.

10. Cookies and Tracking

The App does not use cookies or tracking technologies. We do not serve advertisements. On-device storage (Keychain, UserDefaults, file cache) is used solely for app functionality.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
